What to do with 7 children and a half day of school

TAKE A HIKE!

It was a beautiful fall afternoon in Wenatchee and the kids were willing so I took them up Saddlerock.
In case you are wondering the extra kids are friends of ours who I watch after school a  few afternoons a week. The kids are the same ages as mine so they all play nice together and have lots of fun!

We made it all the way up to the top! Such a beautiful view and no one fell over the edge, always a good thing when you can do this and no one gets hurt!

Fall in the Valley

Here in the valley we are so fortunate to have so many fun things to do! These pictures are from a visit to Smallwood's Harvest. (I think it's totally a tourist trap, but there is plenty of room to run around and pumpkins to sit on and animals to see) thus the kids have a great time burning off some energy.

Bennett and his little buddy rockin' out to the music playing!
All aboard for the cow train! This is one of their favorites, little cow cars pulled by a small tractor super fast and around in circles!
Bennett and his buddy spent lots of time pulling each other in the wagons that were available. And they were even good about taking turns and sharing!

My boys being what they are, silly, goofy boys!
The obligatory picture in the pumpkin patch, would have tried for a better one, but the batteries in the camera wouldn't hold out.

Our own little "drive-in"

Thanks to an idea from Family Fun magazine, a few large enough for children boxes, some markers and paper plates...the kids were in creative heaven. They each had a large box and some supplies and went to town decorating their own little cars.  A couple pillows and their favorite blankets and they were ready to watch a How to Train Your Dragon. Super simple and lots of fun!
